Easter - 2021 Christ is Risen. He is Risen Indeed.

It is just a little more than a year since we first posted on QHP Connection.

  On March 27, 2020 we began by saying:  “It is Day Six of this very new era at the house of prayer marked by self-isolation and so much more.  Perhaps not unexpectedly, yet with surprising intensity, these days are – and promise to become even more so – a paradoxical blend both of deepening solitude, and widening  community.”  A year ago we concluded by recommitting ourselves to what seemed to be “the grace of this time of COVID-19 (which) is three-fold: solidarity, prayer and hope.

Our second Covid-Triduum, modified and restricted, continued to live the blending of both solitude and community, a renewed time of solitarity, prayer and hope.  Each day some local people joined us – from 5 to 11 people on a given day.  Through these various pages of pictures, we share some of our rich times of prayer and community of which you were a real part.

    Thank you so very much for sharing these Easter images. It deepened my sense of inner connectedness with each of you during these holiest of days. Wishing you all a most blessed 50 days of Eastertide.

    These photos are so welcomed. In my mind, and in my heart I was with you all. It was good to see the photos of draping the cross. I always imagine it to be a powerful moment once completed.

    You mentioned that there were a few local people to mark the Triduum with you. I am so confident there were many of us who are drawn to QHP absolutely with you who were "in person" participants.

    During this time of continued restrictions, fears of and even death from COVID19 I have come to reflect more and more on the truth that we are an Easter people. I hope to grow more and more confident in this belief in all I experience and do at this Eastertide.

God is full of Surprises!

Today marks two years since I arrived at the House of Prayer. My journey to this place has been filled with unexpected and surprising grace. In the winter of 2017, I was in the process of planning a time of sabbatical and renewal, following a most painful and difficult moment of my faith/life journey. I had this empty two weeks in my schedule that I needed to fill, and I was searching for a place to go for an interim time of prayer and rest before beginning a 40-day Silent Retreat.   As I was trying to decide what to do for this time a thought flitted through my head… “What about that House of Prayer in Fort Qu’Appelle?” It came out of nowhere as I had no connection with this place. I now am convinced that whisper was the Holy Spirit herself! I had no idea how coming here would impact my life!
