Celebrating Earth Day--HALLELUJAH-GENESIS

It all began a chaotic mass, shapeless, dark and overcast
When Spirit’s brooding prompted Holy Action.
A blast of gas, a blinding light
Suddenly both day and night emerged and God cried  Glory! Hallelujah.       
     
Refrain:       *  Hallelujah ! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Energy was well  in place, the sky assumed its lofty space
While oceans, seas and rivers started flowing.
From deep below the land arose, creating earth for life to grow,
And God, delighted,  cried out..Hallelujah!  *

While earth began its awesome task providing more than we could ask
Godde set Her sights on higher innovations..
The moon, the sun, the stars at night The galaxies aglow with light
And Godde exclaimed.. O glory! Hallelujah! *

The seas  were lonely, as the sky,  Spirit sent birds to sing and fly
And fish and critters to enjoy the water .
And on the earth more life defined  In animals of every kind
And God cried out O glory! Hallelujah.*

Delighted with the Sacred dance Godde pondered:
“Do I take a chance and entrust  some of my  power to another?.
To ‘take on flesh’, make my Presence known ,
Will they  recognize that this is home?
What have I done? O mercy! Hallelujah.*

We know not  how the story ends, from soil God chose to make us friends
Entrusted us to care for  Love’s  creation.
To honour  all that lives and breathes,
To gaze in awe, fall on our knees
And shout aloud  O thank you, Hallelujah! *

    As I listened to the flute and read the magnificent words, I had to smile from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. My whole self was filled with joy and awe, and of course, I had to dance.

Sister Margaret, SNJM Second Anniversary of Entering Eternal Life ~~ April 24, 2019 – 2021

Throughout the past weekend we have been so very aware of the life, death and rising of Margaret Dick.   And so have very many others through cards, emails, texts, telephone calls and personal contact.   We are so thankful to each and every one, for every word and loving sentiment.  The highlight of the weekend Memorial (including a visual display honoring Margaret in chapel) was the Fourth Sunday of Easter celebrated Saturday afternoon;   15 gathered to remember and to give thanks.   It was Good Shepherd Sunday.   In John’s Gospel, Ch 10, the expression “lay down life” is repeated five times in only seven verses.   This was readily seen as a way to understand from a faith perspective how Margaret left this world.   And it was readily seen that giving one’s self away did not happen only two years ago, but was a long-time way of life for her; that is, to lay down her life so many times in so many ways throughout her nearly 82 years.
