Photo Gift from the House of Prayer along with New Year and Epiphany Blessings - 2021

We are now preparing our Annual Letter with a few words and several photos to be sent in the mail.  In the meantime, we invite you to enjoy both some of our Christmas/Epiphany décor and the wonderful landscape in which we live.

A daily gift.

Most of these photos have been taken by Chantelle.  Thank You.

  1. Truly wonderful and amazing! Thank you, Chantelle, for gifting us with your photographic abilities. How magnificent a blessing it is to live amidst such wonder, beauty and fullness of life, and for all of us to enjoy it through the eyes of your camera ( and in person when we are gifted to be able to be at QHP).

The music of the Irish singers at the end moved me to my very core, singing praise to our loving God, and bringing back visual memories of my times there. Such joy and praise to God! Epiphany indeed!

  4. I cannot begin to tell you the soothing balm this video is. Transporting me to a place that brings feelings that I do not experience anywhere else. Your photos and words speak to the blessedness of QHP. I could not help but feel the power of your photography Chantelle. First, in showing us The beauty in the small that is often over looked in our day, no matter where we are. The light shining through frost or ice for just a short period of time in winter months had caught your eye/soul and you were able to photograph it. Wow! The moon shining between branches, the downey woodpecker eating from the feeder. In a world where everything just seems so big and out of human control your photography shows how magnificently our creator reminds us of Her presence and gift. These moments with the video are so comforting to me.

Further, your photography reveals the peace and the beauty of QHP. Not just its’ physical beauty but its’ inherent soul beauty. Everyone who comes to QHP is blessed by this, and also by you and Glenn. It is not the big actions that take us to a place of ”home” but rather the small encounters with both of you and the QHP environment. The attention to the smallest details that promote a place of simplicity and blessing where one’s soul can find rest. It is in the silence, the quiet whispers, the gentle words, the vulnerable stance of welcome that you offer to each guest through prayer, through community, or a touch or a look. You see each one and are present to each one as is needed. Such blessing for our world.

I thought as I looked at this video for a fourth or fifth time that you cannot separate one piece/person out of the reality of the whole of QHP. All of the glorious natural world that surrounds you, all the liturgies in chapel, all the community meals, all the bedrooms, all the trails, the cross atop the hill, and even the snow laden swing bring holiness to the whole that is QHP. The life blood that runs through your veins also runs through the physical environment, and beautifully vice versa.

I am looking forward to a return to QHP where I am able.
