– “A poem I found today which spoke deeply to me ….”

Kitty O’Meara  (author)
And the people stayed home.
And read books, and listened, and rested,
and exercised, and made art, and played games,
and learned new ways of being, and were still.
And listened more deeply.
Some meditated, some prayed, some danced.
Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed.
And, in the absence of people living in ignorant,
dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways,
the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again,
they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images,
and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully,
as they had been healed.

  1. Thank you for this Kathy. I know most of us would like to see this global situation come to an end soon. But if the end came too soon, we might not have had enough time to change our ways toward each other and toward our earth. And a wee voice inside of me says "Take your time. Take your time. Change our hearts and minds. Change our ways. Grow us in loving and caring. Grow us in accepting one another. Grow us in being Christ's presence in our little corner of the world. Stretch us, stretch us, stretch us to let our love, and caring, and action become an authentic and long-lasting healing of Mother Earth. .......Let this be a time of resurrection!
