January 18-25 is the Week of Prayer for
Christian Unity. It seems strange that we have to invite you to join us from a
distance to share in a prayer for unity. But here we are with a great desire to
somehow be present with you during this important time of prayer, with the
great hope that very soon we will be free to invite you all to our chapel to be
with us in person.
Each day, beginning January 18th
until the 25th, we will be sharing
prayers, meditations, and scripture passages we will be using during our
prayer at 10:00 each morning. These
resources are provided for our use by the Commuity of Grandchamp in
Switzerland.
We hope you will spend some time with us
each day as we listen deeply to the invitation of Jesus to us to “Abide in my
love”. As Nicholas Jesson writes in his
description of this week of prayer, “Communion with Christ demands communion
with others…and we are sustained by the prayer of Christ, who desires that we
might be one.” Let us respond to this great desire of God, by joining our
intentions for deeper communion and unity.
We look forward to joining with you in
prayer and hearing your comments and reactions to this time.
Check our blog each day beginning Jan. 18
for the scripture passages, meditation and prayer of the day.
